A member of a gang of robbers who dressed as a female prostitute to lure unsuspecting suitors is in the hands of the Ashaiman police.
The Police say they would put Richard Arhin, 21, arrested on Saturday night, before court soon to face the law.
DSP Frank Awu, Ashaiman District Police Commander who confirmed the story to the Ghanaian Times, said following reports that some robbers within the Tema metropolis had adopted the trick of posing as female prostitutes at night to lure unsuspecting patrons, the police alerted neighborhood watch committees to be on the look out for such persons.
Then on Friday night, members of Fitter Lane Neighbourhood Watch Committee on patrol in Ashaiman became suspicious when they saw a man negotiating with the supposed woman.
They decided to move closer only for the “woman” to take to her heels.
After a hot chase, “she” was arrested and upon examination found to be a man wearing artificial breasts, who had padded his backside, put on earrings, a necklace, a skirt and a blouse.
The police said the gangsters operated most in the Asensu Bar, Old Tulaku and Fitters Lane areas.
