The Senior National Female Soccer team, the Black Queens, progressed to the final round of the 2014 African Women Championship qualifiers following a 3-0 victory over Burkina Faso on Saturday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Coming into the match on the back of a 3-0 win away in Ouagadougou a fortnight ago, the Black Queens wasted no time in announcing their battle-readiness for the final round with a well-taken goal from Faisal Ibrahim after 22 minutes.

Agnes Aduako made no mistakes when Ghana was awarded a penalty four minutes later after a Burkinabe defender had handled Portia Boakye’s ball in the 18-yard box.

And in the 73rd minute, Agnes Aduako put the icing on the cake with her second and Ghana’s third goal after Samira Suleiman had whipped in a cross.

Ghana, thus, progresses to the final round where Ethiopia awaits on a 6-0 aggregate score line.

The Black Queens would be hoping to make a return to the biennial event after Ghana missed the 2012 edition, the first time since the competition’s inception.
