Maghreb de Fes coach Charly Rossi lashed out referee Gomo Daoda following their 3-0 defeat against Medeama in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.
Rossi endured a disastrous afternoon as Fes’ continental qualification hopes were left in serious danger.
The Ghanaians put three goals past them courtesy a first half strike from Malik Akowuah and two others in the second half through Kabiru Moro and in-form midfielder Kwame Boahene.
However, the North Africans, felt the Nigerien referee cheated them with their trainer at the forefront of spearheading the wild accusation.
“I don’t understand this referee. We played against 12 men and he was the referee,” an angry Rossi said
“The first goal did not cross the line and there was a foul before the second goal was scored.
“The problem with referees in Africa is that they always favour the home teams and that’s not good enough.
“The referee had some surprising decisions this afternoon. It is hard to swallow, but now we have to focus on the return game.
The Mauve and Yellows take a healthy lead into the second leg but will be wary against a dangerous side.
