Reports in Kumasi are that the management of Asante Kotoko have secured a three-year sponsorship deal worth GHC 360,000 with online betting firm Superbet.
Kotoko is said to earn an amount of GHC120,000 annually and that comes a huge relief to the club battling for cash.
“We have just concluded on everything and igned a three year contract with Supertbet and the deal will be worth 360,000 Cedis for the years and we will be taking Ghana Cedis 120,000 for each year, ” Kotoko’s Acting Chief Executive Opoku Nti said.
“It is a general sponsorship that will cover every aspect of the club as we also serve them what they want because we needed a sponsor and they came on board so we had to sign it because we realised their offer was attractive.
“We have been struggling with finances and this has been very timely for us to urge us on.”
Kotoko are saddled with huge debts and are struggling to renew the contracts of seven players.
Superbet recently obtained its license to operate in Ghana.
