The much anticipated non titled cruiserweight boxing bout between Braimah Kamoko a.k.a Bukom Banku and Michael Okine popularly known as Ayittey Powers has been reschedule to May 16, 2014 at the Accra Sports Stadium, Asempa Sports Can confirm.
The new date comes after when Ayittey Powers announced his decision to withdraw from the April 18 bout on spiritual grounds last Thursday.
In an emergency stakeholders meeting, Bukom Banku and Ayittey Powers on Tuesday afternoon have agreed to honour the bout on May 16 instead of the earlier proposed May 2 date by the camp of Banku
In an exclusive telephone conversation with the Public Relation officer of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Naa Darkoa Doodo revealed that both parties have agreed in principle but Ayittey Powers, still not convinced on the date and still will like to do some spiritual consultation come next week.
“Both parties have accepted the Friday , May, 16 2014 as the actually date for the much awaited bout but the comical thing is that Powers has indicated that we should give him a week to think about it which the GBA and other stakeholders disagreed.
“But I can assure Ghanaian boxing fans that the said date will not be changed anymore”. Naa Darkoa Doodo added
