Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says he is ready to start for Bucs when they take on Mpumalanga Black Aces on Wednesday night.
Pirates number one goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa is suspended for this clash after receiving his fourth yellow card of the season during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Moroka Swallows.
Meyiwa’s suspension means that the goalkeeping jersey is up for grabs and Dauda says he is ready to step in.
“As a goalkeeper you have to be ready all the time. You never know when you will be called,” Dauda told the official Pirates website.
“We have an important match on Wednesday and we will try to work very hard to help the team win. Whoever plays will fight hard for the team,” added Dauda.
Meanwhile, defender Happy Jele is also suspended for this clash after collecting his fourth yellow card in the Ajax clash.
Pirates will host Aces at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.
Starting lineup:Dauda,Nyauza,Matlaba,Siyabonga,Mamostsa,Mayesa,Mpho,Myeni,Segolela,Ntsuyomelo,Majoro
