Ghana defender Harrison Afful says he is hoping to maintain his new found scoring form ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.
Afful who scored last Saturday to help his Tunisian side Esperance progress in the CAF Champions League with a 3-0 win over Real Bamako was once again on target in the Tunisian top flight clash against CS Sfaxien on Wednesday.
The former Asante Kotoko defender’s goal was all Esperance needed to clinch the three points from Sfaxien.
Afful’s scoring form excites him and he is hoping to keep the consistency ahead of the World Cup which kicks off in two months
“I have waited for this a very long time and God been so good I’m in a good shape now and I hope I will go to the World Cup and make an impact there,” said Afful in an interview with Joy sports
“I just hope and pray to God to give me strength, courage, long life and keep a good shape as I’m in now.
“I hope to maintain my performance or add more because people will be expecting more from me at the World Cup.”
