The much-awaited controversial GT Onetouch outstanding Premier League match between Tema Youth and Accra Hearts of Oak was finally honoured at the Tema Sports Stadium on Saturday with Hearts winning by a lone goal.
The match described by many soccer fans as "The Otukwei Outstanding match" due to the prolonged court cases, saw Hearts scoring the only goal of the match through Joe Louis when he headed home a beautiful pass from Francis Bossman in the 44th minute. With Eric Gawu, spearheading the attack, Hearts piled up pressure from the blast of the whistle but could not find the net, squandering obvious scoring chances.
Tema Youth also came into the picture in the 29th minute but goal-poacher; Abeiku Gaisie saw his beautiful shot saved by goalkeeper Sulemana Abubakar of Hearts.
Hearts from then on, took control of the game till Quainoo's strike, which broke the deadlock.
Tema Youth threw everything into the game in the second session but could not stand, the might of the Phobia Boys as they matched them, boot for boot.
Supporters of Hearts were thrown into a wild state of jubilation when FIFA Referee Alex Quartey brought proceedings to an end. Hearts has now stretched their leadership on the League Table with 41 points from 21 matches.
