NDC Canada has organised a series of activities in Toronto and Ontario to sensitise Ghanaians living in the Toronto area to the problems confronting the country. It has, urged Ghanaians to rally behind the NDC flag bearer, Prof John Atta Mills, and his running mate, Mr John Dramani Mahama, towards a massive win in the elections scheduled for December this year. That, it believed, would get Ghana back on track and change the incompetent leadership Ghanaians had known for the past seven years. The NDC National Organiser, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, who was the guest on the African Sun Splash programme, said the NPP government, led by President Kufuor, had failed Ghanaians. The NPP’s wrong choices and bad policies for the last seven years had left the nation with problems, including corruption, lack of basic amenities like water, the collapse of the energy sector, lack of jobs, health care, among others, he said.Ghana, he said, needed a selfless leader who cared about the Ghanaian people and who had a sense of urgency to solve the problems hanging on their necks. He said it was time for a leader who would listen to the Ghanaian people, saying the NDC in opposition had learnt lessons from the mistakes made while it was in government. He stressed that an NDC government led by Prof Mills would bring on board a new vision to transform Ghana into a nation all could be proud of again. He, therefore, asked Ghanaians to give the NDC a chance to form the next government and correct the wrongs going on in Ghana today. On ROPAL, Mr Ofosu-Ampofo said the NDC was not against the law in principle but said as it stood now the law was a recipe for disaster, adding, “Ghana is not ready for the implementation of ROPAL.”The NDC, he said, would continue to work with Ghanaians everywhere to make sure that the right policies were implemented to make Ghana a better nation for all Ghanaians, both at home and abroad.Source: Daily Graphic
