Okatakyie Agyemang Kudom IV, Omanhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area, has endorsed the destoolment of Nana Kwabena Osei II, Nyafomahene of Akumsa Domase in the Nkoranza traditional area.
The chief's destoolment followed recommendations by a five-member fact-finding committee set up by the Omanhene to investigate allegations of bribery and corruption against him.
A spokesperson of the Omanhene said the fact-finding committee comprised Nana Okofo Agyapong III, Adontenhene of Nkoranza, Nana Amoagyare Baffoe II, Gyasehene, Nana Kwabena Tetteh, Nifahene, Nana Donyina Kyere Kuffuor, Santanhene-Nkwabeng and Nana Baffoe Nti, a linguist of the Omanhene.
The destooled chief was alleged to have refused to hand over some items and money the Omanhene had mandated chiefs and Adikrofo in the traditional area to collect from the people towards the inauguration of an education endowment fund for the area and the celebration of the Munufie Kese festival last year.
Nana Kwabena Osei was alleged to have collected three sheep, 100 tubers of yam and three million cedis from 27 settler communities on behalf of the Omanhene and personally used them.
He was also alleged to have delegated two of his elders, Nana Kofi Frimpong and Nana Awiti Adomako, to bribe the Omanhene with one million cedis for the case to be dropped.
The committee viewed the chief's conduct to have caused a breach in the traditional norms and customary practices of the chieftaincy institution and recommended that the two elders be sanctioned.
Meanwhile Nana Ama Konadu, queen mother of Aduana royal family and Nana Kofi Yeboah, family head, are overseeing traditional matters at Akumsa Domase.
