The case involving incarcerated former GNPC boss, Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata took another dramatic turn on Tuesday when he raised yet another objection empanelling of a judge in court.He objected to the sitting of a Supreme Court Judge, Justice Anim Yeboah on the panel of judges looking into his petition of bias by Justice Henritta Abban.Mr. Tsikata has petitioned the Supreme Court to annul the five year jail sentence given him by Justice Abban.He argues that the judge was bias and that he did not deserve the sentence she gave him.Last week he raised objections to the inclusion of Justice Brobbey in the panel arguing he could not trust the judge to be impartial.Following that objection, Justice Brobbey was replaced with Justice Yeboah but Mr. objected to him too.According to Joy News’ Evans Mensah who was in court, Mr. Tsikata argued that Justice Yeboah had ruled in a case involving him (Tsikata) in respect of whether the International Finance Corporation could come and testify during his trial.Mr. Tsikata said Justice Yeboah who was then a High Court Judge ruled that the IFC could not come to testify, a verdict that went against him (Tsikata).He therefore found it amazing that Justice Anim Yeboah, now a Supreme Court Judge even accepted to sit on the panel to look into a case which is related to the earlier one.He said despite his objections he would leave the final decision to the conscience of Justice Yeboah.Acoording to Evans, Justice Yeboah upon consultations with his colleagues decided to excuse himself from the panel which means the case has been adjourned yet again.This also means the Chief Justice, Mrs Georgina Theodora Wood would have to find a judge who has had nothing to do with Tsatsu’s case to replace the two judges that have been objected to.Story by Malik Abass Daabu
