Reverend William Nkrumah Boahen Appiah, Western Presbytery Chairperson of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has asked Christians to stand up against decisions that could have negative political consequences.
He was speaking at the opening of the 21st Western Presbytery Men’s Fellowship Conference at Tarkwa in the Western Region on Saturday, under the theme “Let us go onto maturity”.
He asked Christians to prevent attempts that could plunge the nation into chaos and said the pronouncements and actions of some politicians and their followers were alarming.
Rev. Appiah urged Christians to pray for peaceful elections in December, saying, records show that electoral malpractices in some countries resulted in the loss of lives and property.
He advised all Ghanaians who had attained 18 years and above to register when the voters’ register was opened to enable them to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming polls.
Rev. Appiah urged members of the Men’s Fellowship to lead exemplary lives for society to emulate.
Brother Nathan Ofosu-Boateng, President of the Western Presbytery, urged members to work harder towards the growth of the Church to the glory of God.
