The Korle Bu Senior Staff Association is demanding that an audit which began under the tenure of former Board Chairman of the hospital Eddie Annan should continue despite his resignation.
Mr. Annan resigned after consultants and specialists of the hospital earlier this week passed a vote of no confidence in him.
Secretary of the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association, James Clifford Oblitey told Joy News that sanctions should not be spared if members of the board are found to have engaged in corrupt activities.
According to him, “the letter of reinstatement of [Rev. Albert] Okpoti by the new minister, Dr Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah, copied the Auditor General seems to reverse the directive for an audit by Hon Sherry Ayittey.”
“We said that no irrespective of his reinstatement, the special audit must be continued because we know there was some audit exercise going on. Now that the man has been relieved of his post we are still stressing that, that the special audit should be continued so that at the end of the day Ghanaians will know who is telling the truth,” James Clifford Oblitey added.
Secretary of the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association was of the view that, “If there is any malfeasance whoever is culpable, Ghanaians should know the person or those people involved.”
