Two persons said to be a driver and a 'mate' were reportedly killed in an accident near Hebron Prayer Centre between the Nsawam old barrier and Hope orphanage Sunday.
An eyewitness told Joy News both the two were trapped when the articulated truck they were driving in fell into a ditch and caught fire. The two were burnt beyond recognition.
Sammy Adjei, the eyewitness, narrated that, the trailer, loaded with iron rods, skidded off the road and fell into the gutter by the road.
The driver and mate were trapped after the iron rods piled up on the head the trailer, preventing them from escaping. The trailer later burst into flames burning them into ashes, the eyewitness added.
There has been no word from the Nsawam police yet but eyewitnesses say a joint team of police and fire personnel were on hand to deal with the situation.
