Police in Tamale say they are treating all 37 ladies featured in a leaked sex tape in the Northern regional capital as victims of abuse.
Photos and videos of the women, in explicit sexual positions with a young man, went viral in the Northern regional capital last month, causing several of the women who were involved to flee the Tamale Metropolis to avoid disgrace.
The ladies are said to be working with reputable organizations in the region.
Police have confirmed they are investigating a case of theft after family of the young man in the tapes reported that the computer hard drive on which the photos and videos were saved had been stolen.
PRO for the Northern Regional Police Command ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, confirmed the ongoing investigations to the media, revealing that they are seeking leads to aid them in their investigations to establish whether someone tried blackmailing the victims.
ASP Tetteh also underscored the necessity of getting a psychologist to help the victims gain sound mind since most of the victims are now undergoing emotional and psychological trauma due to public scorn.
“There is a need for some of these people to be properly psyched up because you don’t know what is going through the minds of victims. They can do all kinds of things to themselves”, he urged.
