Bibiani GoldStars CEO Akwasi Adu has confirmed that the club is pursuing Albert Amoah, who is a free agent.
Albert Amoah became a free agent after his contract with Al Ahly Benghazi was terminated less than a year into his 2-year contract with the Sudanese club.
The 24-year-old joined Al Ahly in a big-money move in October 2025, but after failing to establish himself in the first team, the forward returned to Asante Kotoko on a short-term loan deal in January 2026.
Speaking about GoldStars’ transfer plans, Akwasi Adu told Luv FM that the club is planning for 27 players, with 24 confirmed, and the technical team is looking to add two or three more quality signings in key positions.
According to the CEO, Albert Amoah is the preferred candidate to replace the Ghana Premier League's top scorer, Samuel Atta Kumi, who departed for Al-Kahrbaa Club in Iraq.
"We have 27 players. At least 24 are confirmed. We are just looking around to add one or two players to some departments of the team. I'm looking for Albert Amoah to replace Attah Kumi.
"Yes, I'm chasing Kotoko's Albert Amoah. I’m chasing him until he comes," he stated.
He also revealed that GoldStars have already secured a central defender after signing a youngster from Young Apostles, leaving an attacking midfielder as another priority before the transfer window closes.
"We are looking for one central defender, which we've got. We got this young player from Young Apostles, and the other role is an attacking midfielder," said Akwasi Adu.
Bibiani GoldStars will begin their 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign with a trip to Bechem United with Greek tactician Petros Koukouras as the new head coach.
