Bibiani GoldStars moved to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Vision FC in their week 26 clash at Dun’s Park on Sunday.
The defending champions produced a disciplined display to secure all three points, with Michael Nkoah emerging as the match-winner.
After a cagey first half in which both sides struggled to create clear openings, GoldStars stepped up the tempo after the break.
Their persistence paid off in the 53rd minute when Nkoah found the decisive breakthrough, calmly finishing to hand Bibiani GoldStars a crucial lead.
Vision showed resilience in response, pushing for an equaliser, but were unable to breach a well-organised GoldStars backline.
The hosts managed the game effectively in the closing stages to seal a narrow but significant win.
The result sees GoldStars leapfrog Medeama SC at the top of the standings with 48 points after Medeama suffered a 2-1 defeat to Dreams FC at the Tuba AstroTurf.
GoldStars now turn their attention to an away fixture against Karela United, while Vision will aim to bounce back when they host Basake Holy Stars in their next outing.
