Mr Albert Zigah, Member of Parliament (MP) of Ketu-South, on Tuesday launched his campaign for his re-election, with a call on the electorate to maintain their loyalty and support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He said living conditions in the country have vindicated the decision of the electorate in the constituency to withhold majority of votes from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Zigah was optimistic that the seat would remain an NDC stronghold no matter the propaganda against the party in the constituency.
He advised registered voters in the constituency to check their names in the voters' registers currently on exhibition to ensure that they do not lose the right to exercise their franchise on 7 December.
Mr. Zigah said he used part of his MP common fund to support 100 students at various levels of education and ensured the provision of streetlights to some communities including Blekusu and Xedzranawo, potable water to Agbawoeme and Adavukope and the building of 10 kindergartens in the constituency.
Mr Modestus Ahiable, NDC Volta Regional Chairman, debunked perceptions that the party did nothing for the region.
He cited the extension of electricity and pipe-borne water to the regional capital Ho and several other communities as among some of the landmark projects the party executed in the Volta region.
Mr Ahiable said the GETFUND, Common Fund and the Road Fund were some of the strong pillars established by the NDC for tackling developmental challenges of the country.
He said the NDC would be vigilant to enable the party to neutralize all strategies deployed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rig the elections.
