Personnel of Tema Community Two Police have arrested William Kwame Baah 28, a suspected armed robber who allegedly inflicted knife wounds on two ladies in an attempt to rob them of their personal belongings.
The victims Naomi Adjei and Dinah Forrest, a British were allegedly attacked on October 8, this year, at about 1930 hours.
A third person Sampson Frimpong, driver of the car being used by the ladies was also attacked.
Baah claimed to be a driver and a native of Adukrom in the Eastern Region.
Community Two District Police Commander, Superintendent Gabriel Amankwah Dokyi told Ghana News Agency on Monday that Frimpong, together with Naomi who had a bruise on her right breast and Dinah with bruises on her left hand reported their ordeal to the police.
Supt. Dokyi said the victims who spotted Baah who parked his car near theirs close to a thicket near Tema BBC down forcibly opened the passenger door of their moving red Hyundai Grace driven by Frimpong.
He said Baah ordered them to hand over their bags and monies inflicted wounds on them.
Supt. Dokyi said Naomi sensing danger struggled with Baah who had held on to the door firmly as the car moved unsteadily on the road and this made him (Baah) fell off with the door.
He said the police immediately conducted a search in the bush near ACS Container where eight young men were spotted sitting in front of a wooden structure with the car door.
Supt. Dokyi said the eight were arrested but later released on police enquiry bail due to lack of evidence.
He said when security personnel later arrested Baah on Sunday, an okapi knife with blood stains was found on him and was handed over to the police and during interrogation admitted the offence.
The victims identified Baah as the perpetrator and would be prosecuted after police investigations.
