So what do former heads of states talk about when they meet? Certainly, not the long cabinet meetings or handshakes with global world leaders likely to appear on the Frontpages of local newspapers with a rather optimistic slant. Or playing with the hearts of ministers either to be fired or appointed into new positions. Those times are behind them.
Rather they discuss the number of children they each have, grandchildren and how their wives have tolerated their somewhat ‘little’ theatrics, often the subject of public gossip.
Here is Ghana’s ex President John Kufour and his Nigerian counterpart Abdul Salam-Abubakar, happily comparing notes on the numbers of children and grand children.
