Several persons suffered various degrees of injury when a bus overturned at the Weija Junction along the Malam–Kasoa highway. At least six of the injuries were severe.The injured were rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.The Mercedes Benz bus with registration number GR 5951 A travelling from Accra was destined for Winneba in the Central Region.Some eye witnesses at the scene of accident said the driver lost control of the steering when a front tire of the bus climbed up the median.The bus was said to have dragged itself through some distance after turning on its side because it was moving at a top speed.Residents from nearby houses had to cut through the windscreen to pick the injured as most part of the vehicle had been reduced to twisted steel.The accident caused a heavy traffic build up for at least one hour.Police officials at the scene said the accident was the fifth recorded Tuesday.
