Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Paul Mensah-Bampo, Ningo/Prampram District Police, has assured that security would be tight during the Homowo festival of the chiefs and people of the area.
He therefore cautioned residents and visitors to comport themselves to avoid the wrath of the police.
DSP Mensah-Bampo gave the assurance in an interview with Ghana News Agency at his office at Prampram on Saturday as the people prepare to celebrate their annual Ga-Dangme festival.
The Homowo meant to hoot at hunger is also used for family reunion.
DSP Mensah-Bampo said operators of hospitality facilities have been sensitised to be security conscious while the marine police have been asked to be tough along the beaches to prevent armed robbery.
Alhaji Sa-Rak Nartey, District Chief Executive said about a month ago a meeting was organised by the Assembly and the Police for the youth to sensitise them on the need for peaceful celebrations.
He asked the youth to be law abiding and accord respect to the elderly in the society.
He also appealed to the chiefs and other traditional elders to unite for a peaceful celebration of the Homowo.
