Defending Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns are in a race against time to sell Ghanaian defender Rashid Sumaila and Zimbabwean striker Nyasha Mushekwi.
The club has already filled three foreigner spots with the registrations of Mame Niang (Senegal), Kudakwashe Mahachi (Zimbabwe) and Cuthbert Malajila (Zimbabwe), with Khama Billiat (Zimbabwe) and Ejike Uzoenyi (Nigeria) set to complete the allotted five.
Sumaila is surplus to requirements and has been linked with a move to Europe but, with the transfer window closing on Friday, the Brazilians are in a race against time to get a move through.
“We are trying to get him to Europe but so far nothing has been sealed,” a Sundowns official tells KickOff.com. “It could be Turkey, but we will have to wait and see what happens between now and Friday.
“As for Nyasha, it’s very difficult because he is injured and his injury is very serious. Selling an injured player is tricky, but he could stay with Sundowns beyond the transfer window because we really don’t know the length of his injury.
Mushekwi had been linked with a move to Orlando Pirates before injury struck. He spent last season on loan in Belgium.
