Sometimes it is argued that Ghanaian men, especially the married ones are less romantic. There have also been cases of women complaining about how loving, caring and gentle their men were at the beginning of their relationship or marriage, but all that fizzled out in no time.
A recent survey conducted by Zimbid Concepts, a media production house and match-making agency, revealed that 8 out of every 10 Ghanaian men never take their wives or fiancées out on a romantic date throughout the year, except to funerals and church, and this attitude of men is killing the Ghanaian women slowly.
In an interview with most of the men, they mentioned the lack of money, time and romantic avenues as the reasons for not being too romantic.
It is in this light that an annual event dubbed ‘ODO AHOMASO – 100 COUPLES NIGHT’ which was initiated last year is set to happen live again this year on the theme ‘The Art Of Sensual Intimacy’ on Saturday December 13 at the Earlbeam Hotel.
The show is hosted by Ghana’s Best Female Radio Personality, Akumaa Mama Zimbi, who is also an outstanding actress, a TV talk show host and a consultant on sex matters.
“It is to offer lovers the onetime opportunity to relax and express their passionate love for each other, experience occasional honeymoon in their marriage life, renew their vows and relationships in a romantic setting, and also learn more about the skills and art of foreplay and love making,” says a release issued by Zimbid Concepts, organizers of the event.
Sponsors for the show include Latex Foam, Ice Cool Water, Golden Tree Chocolate, Ash Impressions and La Rota Wine.
Others are Danny’s Decor, Pearl Chinese Restaurant, Earlbeam Hotel and Holy Trinity Spa and Health Farm.
Media partners are Adom FM, TV Africa, Flex Entertainment, Weekly Fylla and Chilloutghana.com.
This year’s show will be one of a kind, because apart from each participant taking a gift home, the Best Two Couples Award winners would receive wonderful gifts and prizes including a weekend stay with free exclusive treatments at the Holy Trinity Spa and Health Farm, Sogakope.
It could be you, so why don’t you take this opportunity to prove to the ladies that Ghanaian men can be romantic.
