Officials of Accra Hearts of Oak have expressed their disappointment at certain comments passed by one of their former players; Obed Ansah, after the latter was axed by the technical team.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Club, Muheeb Saeed, the Club Hearts has demonstrated the necessary commitment to the welfare of Obed Ansah by paying all his medical bills and were shocked as a Club to hear him spew out those words.
“The club’s welfare officer was always accompanying him to the Team doctors for treatment. Contrary to the player’s assertion that we failed to provide money for a purported surgery, it was never established that a surgery needed to be performed for which an amount was quoted”, Muheeb told sportscrusader.com.
“Indeed, we as a club have an enviable track record of giving quality medical attention to our ailing players. It is on record that a Board member sponsored Kofi Abanga and Charles Taylor’s surgery in South Africa.”
“More recently, the club paid close to GH10.000 for captain Moro Abubakar to undergo successful surgery. The painstaking care we have lavished on Gilbert Fiamenyo, Philemon McCarthy and Thomas Abbey leading to their various degrees of recovery is another testimony of our commitment to helping our ailing players to return to the pitch.”
Obed Ansah has played fewer than ten matches in one and half seasons, and only a single reserve-team appearance last season.
“With a new technical team that did not get to assess him in pre-season, their decision to exclude Obed Ansah could not have been a surprise to any objective observer. It is a technical decision and must be respected.”
