Twenty four new cholera cases have been recorded in Ketu North district of the Volta region with the first case recorded in Afornyaga within the district.
The Disease Control Officer of the district health directorate Christian Gohoho confirmed this in an interview with Joy News' Ivy Setordjie.
He would not say what the cause of the outbreak is, except to add that everything is under control.
Cholera outbreak has assumed alarming proportions with over 10,000 recorded cases nationwide.
Over 40 people have so far died in Accra. Twelve people have also been confirmed dead in the Central Region.
The Western Region has also had its fair share of reported cases.
Volta Region correspondent Ivy Setordjie reports that over 252 cases have so far been recorded in the region.
Two deaths have so far been recorded as well.
Residents in the region have attributed the cause to serious sanitation problem in the region.
Ketu South is said to be leading the outbreak with 136 recorded cases.
Other districts such as Nkwanta South, Kadjebi, Ho West have all recorded 84, four, and two cases respectively.
