Health Minister Dr. Kwaku Agyemang Mensah has called for an end to all internal wrangling at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
According to the minister the disunity within the hospital has a potential of affecting the work output of the hospital and the kind of service the hospital renders to the public.
The Health Minister made this admonition when he met with workers of the hospital, Tuesday.
The health minister in an earlier meeting with the Northern Regional Minister announced the appointment of the acting Chief Executive of the Hospital Prosper Akanboung as the substantive CEO.
The minister charged the staff to support the new CEO.
The new CEO Prosper Akanboung later told Joy News he is ready to work with everyone to ensure the progress of the hospital.
He supported the call by the minister for the staff to desist from the internal squabbles and work together for the betterment of the hospital.
He said with unity and hardwork there is nothing they cannot overcome.
The Health Minister arrived in Northern Region this morning to start a working tour of the three regions in the north. The tour is for the minister to acquaint himself with Ghana's preparedness to deal with a possible Ebola outbreak.
In Tamale the minister announced that government is making available one hundred thousand cedis to all regional and teaching hospitals to work on their Ebola centers.
But at the Tamale Hospital the minister said an Isolation center which is currently being worked on will be used as a regional treatment center for some of these contagious diseases.
He told the hospital management that they will receive an additional hundred thousand cedis to enable them turn it into a treatment center.
