Eastern Regional Minister involved in car crash

News reaching Myjoyonline.com indicates that Eastern Regional Minister, Antwi Boasiako Sekyere survived a road crash on the Akuampem ridge late Tuesday.

The Minister was said to be driving home after attending an official assignment in Accra, when the incident occurred at Amanokrom around 10pm.

He sustained minor injuries and was rushed to the Tetteh Quarshie Government Hospital at Mampong, where he was treated and discharged, early Wednesday. Three occupants in the other vehicle are however admission at the same hospital.

Details are sketchy, but reports say the Minister's four-wheel-drive Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle collided head-on with another four-wheel-drive vehicle from the opposite direction. 

He was the only occupant in the vehicle, Public Relations Officer at the Regional Coordinating Council, Prosper Fetor Tsormana told Myjoyonline.com.

Mr. Tsormana, however, said personnel from the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit of the Ghana Police Service has initiated investigations into the cause of the accident.
