Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has signed a one year deal with Ashgold and has already begun training with the Miners.
The CEO of the Obuasi-based club Kudjoe Fianoo said he believes the club will gain a lot from their former shot-stopper.
“I am happy that he (Dauda) arrived at Obuasi less than 24 hours after arrival from South Africa, it showed how poised he is to do something for himself, particularly reviving his club career to maintain his position as the Stars leading goalkeeper,” he told state-owned Daily Graphic.
“Fatau spoke to us last week about his distress in South Africa, with Chippa United and the possibility to sign for us and we obliged.”
The 28-year-old had a torrid time at Orlando Pirates and after warming the bench for most part of last season in the PSL, moved to newly-promoted side Chippa United this term. He terminated his contract with them in less than two months of signing over signing on fees and salaries.
