Roads and Highways Minister, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, has assured the people of Kete-Krachi and three other districts cut off from the main cities by poor roads that they are on the priority list of government.
The roads to farming towns of Krachi West, Krachi Nchumuru, Kpandi and Wulensi districts are in a deplorable state, making movement of farm produce and persons to the south difficult.
However, Inusah Fuseini says urgent measures will be taken to reshape the road while a lasting solution is sought in the near future.
"We have to re-double our efforts in putting the road in shape especially during the rainy season when the low lying areas especially require culverts to be put in place", the Minister conceded.
He promised that re-gravelling and re-shaping of the roads will begin immediately the rainy season ends.
"The long term objective of the Roads and Highways Ministry is to try to put in a permanent structure to construct the roads with bitumen surfacing", he said.
