Black Stars and South Africa side, Mamelodi Sundowns defender Rashid Sumaila has confirmed his comeback to join Ghana Premier side, Asante Kotoko his former club.
The 23-year-old took the decision to rejoin his former club side on the basis of Sundowns failing to register him for the 2014/15 season South Africa top-flight league.
Sumaila made 23 appearances for Mamelodi Sundowns last season by helping them to win the league but has excluded from the South Africa ‘Brazilians’ setup due to his purported move to Europe after the world Cup.
“Yes it is true l am back for Kotoko on a season loan and l will do my possible best to help them as l did with the club before l moved to South Africa,” he said.
The rugged defender joined Kotoko from Ebusua Dwarfs in the 2012/13 season and helped them to win the league in his first season.
Rashid was a member of the Black Stars 23 man squad for the 2014 world cup in Brazil and wants to be active to be recalled into the squad ahead of AFCON 2015
