Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila has expressed delight at joining his former club Kumasi Asante Kotoko on a season-long loan deal.
The former Ebusua Dwarfs player who won the South African Premier league last season with Mamelodi Sundowns was declared surplus to requirements, prior to the start of this season’s PSL season.
The 21-year-old who was a member of Ghana’s squad that participated 2014 World Cup in Brazil in a chat with Joy Sports was full of excitement to return home.
“I’m feeling very great because they received me well when I came and I really appreciate that,” said Sumaila.
He said: “I took the decision to come back and my club Asante Kotoko who has the interest in my football career also spoke to Sundowns for me to join on loan".
“I couldn’t be there just training and not playing, although the Ghana league is yet to start I believe it's better here because there will be friendlies and international games to play.”
