The Ghana international was tough on his fellow Diavolo team-mate during training session leading to a serious injury, but has since shown remorse.
Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari is sorry for a ruthless tackle that injured AC Milan team-mate Marco van Ginkel, Rossoneri manager Pippo Inzaghi has said.
Inzaghi noted the challenge was “tough, but not malicious” while speaking on Milan Channel.
Van Ginkel has been ruled out for up to six weeks due to a sprained ankle with ligament damage.
“We’re disappointed. It was a tough challenge, but not malicious or premeditated,” Inzaghi calmed nerves. “Sulley was the first to apologise. If we didn’t train with this intensity and hunger, then it’d be more difficult to win games.”
He added: “It wasn’t a ‘killer tackle,’ otherwise I would’ve intervened. Sulley is a good lad and he’s the first to be sad about this.
“We’ve lost a player who would’ve started against Napoli [on Sunday], as he was in great form. The thoughts are for Marco and we are all sad to see him on crutches.”
