An aspiring Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched an operation vote-against –incumbent- national executives seeking re-election in the party’s National Delegates Congress in Kumasi.
Ambassador Dan Abodakpi believes it is the collective failure of the incumbent national executives that has brought serious despondency in the party at the grassroots.
“This current executive has no moral right to seek re-election; if they are retained the NDC will go down the hill,” he warned.
Most members in the current national executives are seeking to retain their positions ahead of the December 20 congress.
Vice Chairmen, Alhaji Hudu Yaya and Kofi Protuphy are challenging the incumbent Chair, Dr. Kwabena Adjei for the party’s top position.
General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia his Deputy, Kofi Adams and National Organizer, Yaw Boateng Gyan just to name a few, are all contesting their positions.
But Dan Abodakpi in an exclusive interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, December 16, 2014, opined that a total overhaul of the current executives will ensure a landslide victory for the NDC in 2016.
He explained that the Kwabena Adjei- led executives “have failed to think outside the box and come with innovative ways of doing things to reposition the NDC for victory in 2016”.
The former Trades Minister and Ambassador to Malaysia said, the NDC risked losing the 2016 elections if the delegates vote for any of the incumbent executives.
“We need to have a clean slate to rebrand the NDC for the 2016 elections so none of the current executives must be retained,” he charged.
