Sidicki Momba is one pound heavier than Emmanuel Tagoe going into the Baby Jet Promotions’ Boxing Day bout on Friday.
The Tanzanian weighed at 133 pounds in the official weigh-in session held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday morning
Momba aims to cause a massive upset by beating Tagoe – who weighed 132 pounds – in a WBA Intercontinental Lightweight contest.
There was a huge cheer from the gathering at the weigh-in session after both boxers fell within the cut-off weight of 135 pounds to set up what promises to be an intriguing fight on Friday night.
Tickets for the bout at the Accra Sports Stadium are almost sold out.
Baby Jet Promotions – owned by Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan – are hosting their third bout in Ghana in their bid to develop the sport in the country.
Asamoah Gyan was delighted with how the programs towards the fight has panned out and is eagerly awaiting the bout itself.
“I can’t wait for tomorrow,” he said.
“Not only the main bout which I think will be keenly contested but for the undercard fights as well.
“My team have done a great job and I am sure the fans who will come and see the fight will be very happy and entertained.”
