Former Black Stars captain CK Akunnor has advised Stephen Appiah to take up a coaching job after he announced his retirement from active football.
Stephen Appiah officially announced his retirement from active football yesterday after a career spanning two decades.
The man who started his football career at Hearts of Oak is undoubtedly one of the biggest individual football stories of his generation and remains a great example for generations to come according to many.
CK Akunnor wants to see the man he handed over the Black Stars captaincy, to take up a coaching job in order to impart his great and exemplary life unto the next generation of footballers.
“The journey is over so he must look for something else to do, he should get involved in the game but I don’t think he will be away from it,” he told Joy Sports.
“I heard him talk about coaching which I’m happy about because he will bring a lot on table with his experience.
“As a former player if he is on the pitch I know he will help the young ones who have been looking up to him all this years.”
Currently Stephen Appiah is doing a lot of charity work and is a global brand ambassador for clean cook stoves and soya beverage, Vitamilk.
