Gabon became the first nation to bag all three points at stake in the opening day of the 30th Africa Nations Cup Tournament (AFOCN 2015) being hosted in Equatorial Guinea.
The Panthers as they are nicknamed, scored two goals against the Stallions of Burkina Faso in the second Group A tie played at the Estadio de Bata Saturday night.
Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring after 19 minutes when he struck home calmly, a pass from Andre Poko.
Malick Evouna sealed the victory in 72 minutes when he connected his head to a begging cross from his colleague, Frederic Bulot to net the second goal.
Gabon thus leads the Group with three points from the first game.
