ON Saturday, December 23, Ghana will once again be privileged to witness the performance of another highly acclaimed music group of the world – Third World .
At one of the nation’s most attended shows – The Nite of Comedy and Music, Third World together with Ghana ’s Award winning musicians Obrafour and Wutah will thrill lovers of good music to hours of non stop singing and dancing.
Dubbed "The Night of 1004 Laughs and Music, all is set for the show to also host one of Africa’s most hilarious comedians, I Go Die, together with the ever hilarious Clint d’ Drunk, Big Mama - the Lepascious Bose, David and Foster and a host of others at the Accra International Conference Centre.
After 33 years of smash hit songs, sold-out tours and inspirational messages, Third World is considered the longest running and most diverse bands Jamaica has ever produced. Since its formation in 1973, the group has committed itself to the excellence of reggae music by combining Jamaican Reggae and Folk music with all strains of African Rhythms.
Organised twice each year by Charterhouse, the Nights of Comedy and Music always provide its usually large audience with exceptionally well packaged jokes and music from some of West Africa’s most refined comedians and musicians, and have on each occasion attracted thousands of patrons.
In an interview with the Event Director of Charterhouse, Mrs. Theresa Ayoade, she said the Night of Comedy and Music is uniquely structured to provide the platform for every worker to "unwind" after months of non-stop working.
"For the first time, we have invited one of the highest selling Reggae groups of all times to satisfy lovers of music who will be at the event. By so doing, patrons of the night will not only be treated to rip-cracking jokes, but will also enjoy all genres of music," she explained.
