The Black Stars will face the Syli Nationale of Guinea in the quarterfinal stage of the ongoing 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea as Mali loses out on the draw.
The second place team in Group D was yet to be determined after the final group match between Mali and Guinea ended in a 1-1 draw in the final group game.
Both teams had 3 points, with the same goal aggregate and a draw has been held by CAF to determine the second place team for that group.
Guinea won the lottery ahead of Mali and will now play Ghana on Sunday.
The other match in Group D saw Cote D'Ivoire win 1-0 to place first in their group and will face Algeria in the quarter-finals.
Ghana's coach Avram Grant will now have to prepare against a side his team faced during the AFCON qualifiers.
