Members of the Black Stars will earn an extra bonus of 100, 000 USD from their official sponsors, uniBank Ghana Limited for winning the quarter final game against Guinea.
The Black Stars defeated Guinea 3-0 in the quarter finals of the Africa Cup of Nations at the Estadio De Malabo in Malabo to book a place in the semi-finals of the competition.
The package was announced by Mr. Owusu Ansah Awere, Executive Director of Unibank Ghana Limited, on the eve of the match against Guinea.
According to Mr Awere, the team will be given an additional 100,000 dollars should they win semi-finals against Equatorial Guinea and another 100,000 dollars for winning the finals.
Mr Awere said the 300,000 dollar package was not part of the 1.2 million sponsorship for the Black Stars.
“This is an additional package to motivate the players to continue to perform in the competition.
“They have done well so far and we believe they have reached a crucial stage of the competition, which needs additional motivation.”
The Stars will play host nation Equatorial Guinea on Thursday, at the Estadio De Malabo.
