Newly crowned AFCON champion Herve Renard could soon be unveiled as the new coach of Egypt.
Allsports.com.gh understands that the Frenchman who has now won two titles with two different national teams held meetings with an Egyptian delegation in Bata prior to the final on Sunday to iron out details.
Egypt, the winners of a record seven AFCON titles have fallen on hard times recently partly due to the political instability in the country but also due to the ability to find a coach able to harness the talent pool in the country.
A source told Allsports.com.gh that Herve was the right man for the job due to his "knowledge of the African game" and pragmatism and they felt they had made him an "offer that would be hard to turn down".
It is not clear whether Renard is interested in the move only having taken the Cote d'Ivoire job less than a year ago and could feel the inkling to stay with the challenge of qualifying for the World Cup in Russia the next objective.
