Ghana's U-23 goalie Kwame Baah has opened up on the secret behind his fascinating rise to becoming Asante Kotoko's first-choice goalkeeper at the expense of captain Felix Annan.
Baah started the season as a second-choice goalkeeper but has overthrown Felix Annan, who has been the first choice for five years and is gradually winning the hearts of the fans with his consistent displays.
Baah took over the starting position five matchweeks into the Ghana Premier League season when Annan took time off to tie the knot with his girlfriend in January.
The former Inter Allies goalkeeper has been accused of using black magic (popularly referred to as Juju) but he insists the position is a reward for his hard work and determination.
“Some fans said a whole lot of things but, they have come to the understanding that it is all about hard work and determination, not juju,” Kwame Baah told Asempa FM.
In 10 appearances, Baah has kept 6 clean sheets and conceded four goals.
The league is currently on suspension due to the spread of the coronavirus. Baah will be hoping to maintain his position when the league resumes.
