One of the country's leading pharmaceutical company Ernest Chemist has made a cash donation of ¢100,000 to the Covid-19 Trust Fund at the Jubilee House.
The donation according to the firm forms part of the companies corporate social responsibility programmes.
Ernest Chemist said the donation is to further help government to implement measures aimed at eradicating the coronavirus pandemic which has killed 8 people and infected 566 in the country.
The pharmaceutical giant has also donated medical supplies including disinfectants, sanitisers, pain killers, examination gloves, to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Volta regional health directorate as well as the Kwahu Atibie Hospital.

These donations together with previous ones at the Greater Accra Hospital (Ridge) and Tema General Hospital forms part of the companies contribution to help promote the safety of health professionals to help in treating infected coronavirus patients.
Sharon Anim, brands manager at Ernest Chemist, who presented the cheque said the company is confident in governments measures implemented to deal with the pandemic.
The Ernest Chemist delegation was led by Nana Animwaa Sarpong who is a Director at pharmaceutical company.
Chairperson of the Covid 19 Trust Fund, Sophia Akufo indicated that the Trust will be transparent in the management and utilization of the funds accrued so far.
