The President, Nana Akufo-Addo on Sunday announced an extension of the ban on public gatherings in his 8th address to the nation.
Announcing other measures his government is taking to combat the coronavirus pandemic in the country, he said the Covid-19 pandemic has woefully exposed Ghana's fragile health system.
In response, President Akufo-Addo said the next one year will see a revamping of the health sector with some new hospitals to be built in regions and districts across the country.
Last week, he addressed the nation lifting the 21-day restriction on movement in some parts of the country.

He said his decision was backed by data and science although this has been disputed by many people who argue that the timing was wrong.
Ghana currently has 1,550 confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 155 recoveries and 11 deaths as of April 26, 2020.
