Senior Nursing Officer Salomey Awiti Baffoe has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 in the case in which she is accused of abetting the alleged publication of false news on social media.
The court ordered that she be released on two sureties, who must be civil servants earning monthly salaries of not less than GH¢3,000.
Ms Baffoe, 40, has pleaded not guilty to the charge and has remained in custody as the case progresses.
Her detention has raised concern among her family, who have appealed to the government to facilitate her release, saying her continued absence is affecting her children and leaving them struggling without their mother.
The latest bail order follows an earlier refusal by the High Court to grant her bail after prosecutors argued that she was still needed to assist with investigations and could interfere with witnesses.
Her case has also faced further delays, with proceedings adjourned to October 5 because the presiding magistrate is attending a judges and magistrates conference.
Ms Baffoe is alleged to have been involved in the publication and circulation of false information on social media.
The prosecution is expected to continue presenting its case when the matter resumes, while her lawyers maintain her right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. Her release will be subject to the fulfilment of the bail conditions set by the court.
