Five more persons have died after contracting the infectious coronavirus.
This brings the total number of individuals who have succumbed to the disease to 16 as of Tuesday, April 28.
According to the latest update by the Ghana Health Service, 13 out of the 16 regions have recorded at least one positive case of Covid-19.
The total number of recorded cases currently stands at 1, 671 with 188 recoveries.
Out of the total number of cases, the GHS Director-General, Dr Patrick Aboagye, indicated that 1,461 are not showing symptoms and are responding to treatment.
However, six are moderately and critically ill.
“Two are at UGMC [University of Ghana Medical Centre], three are at the Ga East Municipal and one at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital,” he said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
Dr Aboagye further added that 237 people who have tested positive for the virus but are not in health facilities, are being in kept in isolation centres.
