The Kintampo Divisional Police has held a mass burial for the charred bodies retrieved from an accident on the Kintampo-Tamale highway in March.

The accident which left Ghanaians in a state of shock occurred when a Kia Grand Bird bus headed towards Accra veered of its lane and collided with a Tamale-bound Sprinter vehicle.

The impact caused the two vehicles to go up in flames killing 30 passengers, including children.

Both vehicles were charred in the inferno, leaving only a few survivors.

Two months after the incident, the bodies were buried at the Kintampo Municipal Central Cemetery on Saturday.

Adom News' Nana Wiafe Akenten was at the cemetery and reports that both Muslim and Christian residents came to pray for the deceased before they were burried.

James Musah whose wife was buried told Nana he was glad she has finally been laid to rest.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Kintampo North, Michael Sarkodie Baffoe said the increasing rate of accidents on the that highway is worrying.

"We must probe that," he said, adding that too many lives have been lost for the situation to remain same.
