The Employment and Labour Relations Ministry says it will begin a random inspection of workplaces from July 1, 2020, to witness at first hand if measures put in place to curb the spread of coronavirus are being adhered to.
In a statement copied to JoyNews, the Ministry said it has noticed with grave concern the spread of infections at workplaces despite measures taken by government to curtail the spread of the virus.
The Ministry, as part of the inspections, says it expects a statement from management’s commitment and responsibilities to reduce risk of Covid-19 at their workplaces.
“A response plan indicating preparedness for COVID-19 prevention at the workplace.
“Regular consultation of occupational health services, local public health authorities and other partners to promote and develop information materials and other technical advice to prevent risk of exposure.”
