Oti Regional branch of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has donated PPEs and an amount of ¢10,000 to health centres in the region.
This is in support of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in the Volta Region.
The Association was led by its Vice-Chairperson Lucy Tenkorang and donation was made through the Volta Regional Coordinating Council.
Lucy Tenkorang and Dela Agbeve who presented the items to the Volta Regional Minister noted that it was important for the Association to help in the fight against the disease.
According to Mrs Tenkorang, the gesture was the AGI’s own small contribution towards the fight against the pandemic despite its members being hard hit.
Items presented include two crates of Lucozade energy drink, 10 packs of bottled Malt, two infrared thermometers, 20 loaves of bread and 100 pieces locally-made face masks.
The Regional Minister, Dr Achibald Yao Letsa, who received the items was grateful to the AGI for their immense support in the fight against the pandemic.
He urged other organisations to emulate their kind gesture.
Present at the brief ceremony were the Deputy Regional Minister, Rev. Johnson Avuletey; Chief Director of the Coordinating Council, Felix B. Chaahaah; CEO of the Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr John Tampuri and Director of Administration of the Ho Teaching Hospital, George Tetteh.
