Actor Macaulay Culkin shocked Twitter on Aug 26 when he announced he had just turned 40.
Culkin is often remembered for his work in the iconic Home Alone film series, where he portrayed a boy left all alone at home when his family leaves for the holidays without him.
He was 10 when the first Home Alone film came out in 1990.
'Hey guys, wanna feel old? I'm 40. You're welcome," Culkin tweeted on his 40th birthday, sending fans, who have fond memories of him on the films as a boy, into a frenzy.
The tweet has since been liked 1.7 million times.

In another attempt at making his fans feel old, Culkin followed up with this tweet: "Since I'm 40 I think it's about time to start my midlife crisis. I'm thinking of picking up surfing. Do you all have any suggestions?"
